I turned 58 last November.

The second two-thirds of my life so far have been spent recklessly maltreating the only body I ever got, which started off life in A-1 condition.

As a consequence, it's now in D-4 condition—reparable, but just barely, and just hairs away from being irreversibly damaged.

Luckily, at 58 I find myself not overweight, but with various afflictions, such as incipient arthritis and a gastroenterological complex ravaged by my twin demons: alcohol and sugar.

In the past year, I slowly started to change things. First I tackled anxiety issues by going to CBT. At the same time but purely by happenstance I started to cut down drastically on my glucose intake. Then six months ago, I quit alcohol entirely.

And in the past year or so, I've found dramatic improvements.

But I've only just begun.

I have to ascend to the next level—to find out what is possible with this marvelous machine called the human body, and I'm feeling that the only way to truly do that at this point is to radicalise my diet.

And one way to change my diet is to start from the beginning again.

Emerging discoveries in human biology are now hinting that there is a lot more going on inside us than we ever suspected possible. Indeed, this extends to all animals, not just humans.

I am about to undergo the greatest experiment of my life: to try to recalibrate my community that hitches along for this ride called my life; to rid myself of the losers and parasites, the hangers-on and the wannabes.

Why don't you come along for the ride? It may be annoying, it may be misguided, it may end in failure. But I can promise you it will never be boring.
